2008 SEARCH AND RESCUE
An important part of the training
the Posse receives is in Search and Rescue.
The local Sheriff can call on the
Posse to help locate missing persons, items, securing accident scenes and so
forth. To be able to do this efficiently, training is done each year to learn
new techniques and hone old ones.
This year was a little different
from past years, as all the information had to be located using compass
readings as well as GPS information. The search is carried out in a local
gravel pit, with lots of different terrain.
