Steele County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse and Auxiliary

OWATONNA, MN – The Steele County Mounted Posse (SCMP) is pleased to announce that Alltel’s Community Caring Program has awarded a $3831.34 Community Caring Grant to the posse for purchase of new communications radios.

 

The SCMP is a 501C3, non-profit organization comprised strictly of volunteers. The members stand ready to assist law enforcement agencies all across Minnesota, northern Iowa, and western Wisconsin when called upon.

 

Captain Joe Schwering was quoted as stating, “This is a tremendous day for the posse. Communication needs are a top priority and are always in shortage during our missions. Through the generosity of Alltel’s Community Caring Program, the shortage issue is totally resolved. We extend our deepest thanks to the Committee and are honored to be among all the organizations selected by them.”
