Steele County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse and Auxiliary

Just a reminder on Radio care.

I have been in contact with Radio service in regard to the care of the batteries on our radios.

In the past we recommended that the radios be discharged completely about once a month.

With the new style batteries it is now recommended that we discharge the radios about once a month for 24 hrs and then recharge them

"Do not Discharge them all the way."

this can be done by taking them out of the charger and leave them on for 24 hrs then place them in the charger "turned off" and let them recharge.

Also store them in a warm place, not in the barn or horse trailer out side because the extreme cold will ruin the battery.
