Steele County24th Annual Wagon train for youth

The Sheriff’s Youth Programs of Minnesota is a private not-for-profit organization whose mission is "to foster and promote services to children and families to enhance positive growth and development."

The Wagon Train is an annual event that raises money to the Sheriff's Youth Program, and is organized by local Sheriff’s Posse’s throughout Minnesota. Each Posse hosts the event for two years.

This year the Wagon Train was hosted by The Steele County Mounted Posse, and  provided 3 days of great weather for riding through the county. Sixteen wagons and lots of riders of all ages took part in this great event.

In the barn the horses relax for the night

…and the riders are relaxing as well.

The Wagon Train is on the way for Saturday’s route to Medford.

Taking the morning break…time for coffee and grass for the horses.

Continuing to Medford.

Despite the quick pace, people find time to chat...or read the paper!

We arrived to the lunch site early..almost beating the Potty Wagon there.

Heading back towards Owatonna

Before getting there, we take another final break

Back at the Fairgrounds the horses are taken care of, children get rides, and then it is time for dinner and socializing.
